Joe Cornish is an example of the
uncompromising type of landscape photographer for whom nothing less then a
5"x4" original can hold enough detail, and nothing but a field camera
with a full range of lens movements can properly transcribe the beauty of the
natural world.
His fame comes from his prestigious
appointment as one of the official photographers of the National Trust, though
of course, it is his talent that earned him that position.
He favours a wide-angle view. His images are
recognisable by their great depth, dramatic lighting, rich colour, precise
framing, painstaking attention to the tiniest details, and well orchestrated
clouds (!)
This image, from his book "First
Light" is his interpretation of Buachaille Etive Mor on Rannoch
Moor in the Scottish Highlands.
